Description
- Work closely with other PHY systems, analog and digital designers, and MAC FW & SW Engineers to ensure that functional and performance interface details between the Radio-PHY-MAC are accounted for. - Test, verify and be the direct point of contact for interface aspects.- Architect, design and implement specialized PHY system validation setups and flows, devise test plans and post process mass amounts of data to capture performances and identify and root cause system inefficiencies.
Key Qualifications
- Expertise/familiarity with Wireless Communications, wireless chip development, and lab flows for integration and validation.
- Solid grasp of complex wireless systems with strong capability to comprehend dependencies between system components and protocol layers and their interactions.
- Experience in lab FPGA/silicon bring-up, PHY/RF/MAC testing and debugging and usage of lab equipment.
- Extensive hands-on SW programming skills for simulation of sophisticated systems from RF/PHY layer signals, MAC protocol/networking simulations and lab automation test scripts.
- Proficiency with MATLAB/C/C++/Python required.
- Experience with handling and processing large amounts of field and lab data, including user-friendly visualization of complex test setup results, measurement accuracies, system latencies, etc.
- Familiarity with common analog/RF impairments encountered in wireless systems.
- Experience with and/or knowledge of industry standards such as Bluetooth, Ultra-Wideband, GPS, and/or other wireless protocols.
Education & Experience
BS with 3+ years with focus on Dig. Comm’s & Signal Proc required. MSEE/PhD preferred.

Pay & Benefits
- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $131,500 and $243,300, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Note: Apple benefit, compensation and employee stock programs are subject to eligibility requirements and other terms of the applicable plan or program.
