Your key responsibilities

rotecting the nation's transportation systems to keep our loved ones safe and the goods and commerce we rely on moving about the country safely.This position is located with our client in the Washington, D.C. Metro Area.

Additionally, you will be responsible for providing dedicated support to the client by performing the following activities:

  • Perform in-depth analysis of program policies and rulemaking.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of Operational Models and dashboards.
  • Participate in conversations and assess accessibility policies and procedures and make recommendations on policies to make checkpoints accessible for all travelers.
  • Draft and edit privacy compliance documents such as Privacy Threshold Analyses (PTA) and Privacy Impact Assessments (PIA), and review System of Records Notices (SORN) for compliance coverage.
  • Draft and review policy documents such as Directives, Instructions, Manuals, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Memoranda of Understanding/Agreement (MOU/MOA), rules and regulations, legislation, and program-specific guidance materials for the client.
  • Draft and review required Privacy Notices such as Privacy Act Statements (PAS), posted signage, electronic signage, as well as the privacy-related language in communications materials such as federal correspondence, handouts, websites, and Public Affairs Guidance.
  • Conduct periodic reviews of relevant legislation and policy changes, processes, and procedures to ensure that they adhere to procedures and identify any impacts to implementation.
  • Engage privacy and policy representatives as appropriate regarding policies, processes and procedures that may impact the U.S. Government and the traveling public.
  • Conduct research and analysis within the privacy and policy portfolio in response to inquiries from client leadership.
  • Provide executive summaries of interdivisional and external meetings when requested.

Skills and attributes for Success

  • Skills in collaborating with decision makers and their immediate staff. Skills in interacting with other specialists and experts in the same or related fields.
  • Ability to exercise judgment in all phases of analysis. Includes sorting out key concerns and issues when dealing with large amounts of information to ensure that all aspects of the policy issue are explored.
  • Ability to analyze evidence and develop feasible options or alternative proposals and anticipate policy consequences.
  • Adept at evaluation policies, assessing for implications and preparing briefings and assessments to convey to executive leadership.
  • Experience with REAL ID policies and rulemaking.
  • Strong verbal communications skills with the capability to explain, justify, and discuss a variety of highly complex privacy/policy issues and present the appropriate facts and analysis using language that is appropriate to both specialists and/or nonspecialists.
  • Excellent written communications skills with the ability to organize ideas and present findings in a logical manner with supporting and adverse criteria for specific issues.
  • Ability to work in a high-demand, fast-paced environment.
  • Well-organized with a track-record of producing high-quality deliverables on time.
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • US Citizenship
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 7+ years of experience

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Active DHS Public Trust
  • Privacy Certification such as CIPP/US, CIPP/G, CIPM, and/or CIPT preferred

What we offer you

  • We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $115,600 to $212,000. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $138,700 to $240,800. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
  • Join us in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year.
