What You’ll Do
  • Investigate why anIndustrial Battery System is not working as expected and establish the repairplan for the system
  • Troubleshoot complex communication problems amonginverters, energy meters, battery controllers, and central SCADA devices, oftenusing only command-line tools such as NMAP, traceroute
  • Troubleshoot complex electrical/electronic and controlsystem problems with battery systems across different applications such asmicrogrid and utility scale on-grid applications
  • Support remotecommissioning and ongoing operations of new Industrial Storage Systems forTesla customers, including configuring them to customer’s specifications,updating the equipment’s software and firmware, update networking devices to resolve identified issues andrestore operation to the system and functionally testing the equipment
  • Support customersand field technicians working with Tesla’s Industrial Battery Products usingremote diagnostic tools and troubleshooting
  • Configure Tesla’scontroller network settings as per customer’s requirements to enablecommunications with customer controller and any meters shared with customer
  • Support continuousimprovement of data processing techniques used by Tesla’s internal tools toevaluate performance and find malfunctions
What You’ll Bring
  • Experience with theLinux/UNIX programming environment
  • Experience with communication systems and protocols suchas TCP/IP, including the tools available at the command line interface totroubleshoot network communication issues
  • Advancedunderstanding of electrical theory and experience / working knowledge withemphasis on DC power systems or other electronic systems/devices/components.
  • Understanding of atechnical support environment and processes, including ability to document casehistories clearly, accurately and with detail. Ability to prioritize workflows effectively according to multiple criteria. Experience with CRM systems, mobilecase/ticketing systems, bug tracking systems
  • Grasps basicconcepts of electricity (AC/DC, current, voltage, resistance, power vs. energyetc.)
  • Bachelor’s Degree inElectrical Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • Foreign languageproficiency a plus
