As an HL7 Interface Specialist, you consult and work with our USCAN Sales/Service/Support teams, customers, and 3rd party vendors to design, install, configure, test, and support interfaces between GEHC Ultrasound Digital products and various HIS/RIS/EMR systems. You ensure that interface deliverables (schedule and technical requirements) are achieved, emphasizing quality and strict attention to detail, while optimizing the customer's experience.


Responsibilities

  • Install and integrate GEHC's Ultrasound IT ViewPoint software into the customer's HIS/RIS/EMR environment.

  • Primary regions covered are the West/Mountain/Central zones in both the U.S. and Canada.

  • Define interface objectives and scope of work, functionality, dataflow, workflow, and HL7specifications.

  • Design, install, configure, test, modify interface code and provide go-live support.

  • Work closely with project teams, including 3rd party vendors, to ensure timelines and technical requirements.

  • Communicate statuses to project team members, customers and stakeholders, and managers.

  • Serve as an interface domain expert and consultant for both internal and external customers.

  • Travel to customer sites and regional headquarters, as required.

  • Provide technical sales support and direction.

  • Provide system training to physicians, IT staff, and other clinical and/or technical users.

  • Maintain and support existing customer installations

  • Collect, organize, and prioritize enhancement requests for engineering with appropriate follow-up touchpoints.

Required Qualifications

  • Regardless of employee location, the required work hours for this role will be the Pacific time zone.

  • Experience with at least one HL7 communication server: Mirth Connect, Cloverleaf, BizTalk, CorePoint, JCAPS, Rhapsody etc. (Mirth Connect experience desirable)

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or STEM discipline or comparable work experience

  • 4+ years in HL7 programming and clinical software integration

  • Proficient in script-based /object-oriented programming: Javascript, XML/XSLT, TCL, HTML etc. (Javascript experi ence desirable)

  • Sybase / SQL or equivalent database experience.

  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 10% within the United States
