What to Expect As an Analysis Engineer, you will play a critical role in the development and manufacturing of next generation Tesla products. You will analyze and optimize revolutionary products never before executed. You will be brilliant both technically as an individual, and as an active member in a diverse and challenging cross-functional team environment. You will work with Vehicle Engineering teams to analyze the performance of future vehicle designs and with Test Engineering teams to develop tests, correlate simulation models and improve the predictive capability of Analysis Engineering at Tesla.
What You’ll Do - Develop strength and durability FE models for analysis and optimization of revolutionary vehicle architectures in collaboration with a small team of multi-disciplinary Engineers
- Challenge established traditional CAE methods and process to improve efficiency and accuracy
- Use CAE tools to optimize performance for BIW, closures, chassis, and other sub-systems
- Support world-class Engineering teams with design direction based on your analyses
- Perform analysis for feasibility for manufacturing, assembly and service processes
- Quickly learn the tools necessary to execute, and modify or create new tools as necessary
What You’ll Bring - Deep understanding of mechanics of materials, statics, and dynamics
- Ability to work independently and with others on problems that are unusual or difficult
- Ability to come up with practical and theoretically sound solutions to problems never encountered before
- Ability to concisely convey technical communication
- Understanding of theory in a range of mechanical engineering subjects, including heat transfer, vibrations, controls, and fluid dynamics
- Experience in Finite Element Analysis, Fatigue Analysis, Applied Solid Mechanics and Numerical Methods within a product development environment perferred
- Understanding of Statistics and optimization techniques preferred
- Knowledge of Python and Linux preferred
- Experience in 3D CAD modeling - CATIA v5/v6 preferred
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering, or equivalent experience
