About the role:

This Senior Technical Writer position will lead efforts to improve team written and verbal communication across the Peripheral Intervention (PI) group as well as provide direct writing support to high-visibility projects within the PI Sustaining Engineering team. Organizational development will be achieved through coaching, editing, writing, and effective use of document format, resulting in clarity and consistency in written and verbal communication. Responsibilities will primarily be focused on compliance and continuous improvement.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Lead continuous improvement efforts to improve organizational capabilities
  • Assess organization’s current communication abilities and needs
  • Define specific communication goals and desired outcomes to include technical communication, interpersonal communication, persuasive arguments, and conflict management
  • Develop a communication strategy leveraging technology and tools
  • Implement communication skills training
  • Coach individuals and teams for improved communication
  • Foster a positive communication culture

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, degree in technical writing or related technical field such as engineering, or biology preferred
  • Minimum five (5) years of technical writing experience
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Word and a working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experienced with document management software/systems

  • Strong writing, editing, and communication skills
  • Ability to work both in collaboration with others on a project team and independently on tasks
  • Aptitude to understand engineering and other technical information
  • Able to work quickly and efficiently on documents and tasks while still maintaining high quality work
  • Proactive work habits and assertiveness in creating and owning documents
  • Project management and time management skills
  • Problem solving skills and an ability to respond and adapt to change
  • Exposure to or experience with Windchill or other documentation control systems
  • Exposure to Medical Device industry
  • Coaching others for improved written and verbal communication

Compensation fornon-exempt (hourly), non-sales rolesmay also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
