About the Role

You will be working with an interdisciplinary team of engineers, economists, and operations researchers to develop the next generation of dynamic pricing algorithms for Uber.

What the Candidate Will Do

• Build statistical, optimization, and machine learning models for a range of applications in the pricing algorithms space.
• Implement their ideas in production systems
• Design and execute product experiments and interpret the results to draw detailed and actionable conclusions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across disciplines such as product, engineering, operations, and marketing to drive system development end-to-end from ideation to productionization.

Basic Qualifications

• Ph.D., M.S. or Bachelors degree in Machine Learning, Operations Research, or other quantitative fields.
• Knowledge of underlying mathematical foundations of statistics, machine learning, optimization, economics, and analytics.
• Ability to model complex real-world problems using pragmatic mathematical formulations.
• Ability to use Python to work efficiently at scale with large data sets.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in algorithm development and prototyping.
• 3+ years of industry experience as an Applied Scientist or Machine Learning Engineer.
• Experience in pricing optimization
• Experience with productionizing algorithms for real-time systems.
• Well-honed communication and presentation skills.
• Knowledge of experimental design and analysis.

For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$185,000 per year - USD$205,500 per year.
