Reporting to theAssociate Production Supervisorais responsible fordiagnosing issues involved in press stamping and weld fixtures not making an acceptable part to print and then making necessary adjustments to correct the tooling and or fixture.
What a typical day looks like:
- Troubleshoot die problems from observing defective parts or by observing dies operating in the presses.
- Troubleshoot weld fixture problems at the weld cell by observing defective weldments or by observing weldment operations and measurements.
- Be able to make setups as needed to rework non-conforming product for production requirements.
- Machine parts to specifications using machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, or grinders.
- Set up, adjust and operate all of the basic machine tools and many specialized or advanced variation tools in order to perform precision machining operations.
- Study sample parts, blueprints, drawings, and engineering information in order to determine methods and sequences of operations needed to fabricate products, and determine product dimensions and tolerances.
- Fit and assemble parts to make or repair machine tools. Design fixtures, tooling, and experimental parts to meet special engineering and manufacturing needs.
- Measure, examine, and test completed units in order to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments such as micrometers, dial calipers, height gage, and dial indicator.
The experience we’re looking to add to our team:
- High school diploma or GED; plus a Machine Tool Degree and or minimum 5 years’ experience as a machinist in a manufacturing environment.
- Computer skills in Microsoft office and CAD/CAM is a plus.
- Able to read, comprehend, and interpret complex instructions.
- Proficient computer skills and experience with Excel
- Able to use measuring devices (micrometer, calipers, height gage, and dial indicators)
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and customers.
- Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts and operations.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
- Plus if candidate has tig weld experience
