Essential Functions of the Job (Key responsibilities)
·Lead the opportunity assessment as it relates to licensing / acquisition of molecules in the autoimmune, inflammation and oncology therapeutic areas including assessment of preclinical and clinical data, analyzing market dynamics and competitive landscapes, outlining product positioning, creating revenue forecasts, evaluating comparable licensing deals, and determining net present value financial analysis for the program of interest and the overall collaboration.
·Determine optimal collaboration structures and financial terms and assist or lead negotiation of term sheets and collaboration agreements.
·Assist with search and evaluation as well as due diligence activities to identify and analyze novel pharmaceutical licensing opportunities and strategic collaborations that have the potential to transform the treatment paradigm and are aligned with corporate strategy.
·Remain current on new developments in business development and the pharmaceutical industry as they apply to the above functions.
Qualifications (Minimal acceptable level of education, work experience, and competency)
·Advanced science degree (M.D., Ph.D., Pharm.D., R.Ph.) and MBA or equivalent.
·8+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry with a record of accomplishment, preferably with experience in oncology and autoimmune therapeutic areas.
·Candidates with a strong analytical background, business development experience, demonstrated problem-solving skills and attention to detail coupled with a solid understanding of pharmacology will be preferred.
