Taking leadership in manufacturing design and process optimization with leading Design for Manufacturability to integrate early manufacturing considerations.
Design cell layout, manufacturing equipment and fixtures (2D and 3D).
Develop manufacturing processes, Test feasibility of new designs, evaluate alternative process applications
Optimize equipment for KPIs such as material flow, MTTR, MTBF, uptime, and ergonomics.
Lead root cause analysis of complex technology failures during FAT or commissioning.
Collaborate with stakeholders on in-house development of novel and complex automation equipment.
Develop specifications and RFQs for custom automation equipment.
Closely collaborate with external equipment suppliers on custom automation equipment design and manage integrators from equipment development through buyoff.
Conduct safety risk assessments; ensure safety performance with effective solutions.
Design production workstations for ergonomics and efficiency.
Ensuring compliance with regulations regarding machine and occupational safety as well as environmental and approval processes during installation, commissioning and operation.
What You’ll Bring
BS/MS Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent experience.
Several years of work experience in high pressure die casting or comparable industries
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering and transitioning products from prototype to production
Experience in developing manufacturing processes for new and unique products
Minimum 3-5 years of experience designing mechanical equipment, fixturing and tooling in CAD (Solidworks, Inventor or Catia)
Experience designing manufacturing lines in 2D (AutoCAD) and 3D environments.
Detailed knowledge of standards, norms and specifications necessary for the development and safe operation of industrial machinery
Knowledge and application of ISO 14000 as well as ISO 50001 as a plus
