Reports to Manager Manufacturing Engineering, Stamping
Does not manage people
Acts based on directions by the manager and undertakes actions for process improvement in new product introduction
Responsible for executing the job with focus on cost, quality and timing
Builds and maintains an attitude of team player to fellow positions to attached and interacting organizations
Acts in accordance with environmental, health and safety regulations
Acts in accordance with compliance and security regulations
Determines feasibility for Engineering Changes Orders (ECOs) and determine time and cost to implement.
Works with CAD Tech Lead, ECO/Machining Lead, and Toolmakers to develop modification plans for stamping dies to implement quality improvements, new build die design, ECOs and other modifications and/or repairs.
Responsible for full-cycle implementation of ECOs from CATIA model of updated part design. This includes data overlay to determine areas of change, review of die design data to determine modification plan and coordination with both Tool & Die ECO team and vendors to implement changes.
Support to set a catalogue of standard spare parts for new project.
Attend change control meetings to assess priority of Model Y ECOs and modification requests based on impact to quality, cost and lessons learned
Responsible for implementation of 3D die design modifications to reflect Engineering Change Orders
Support engineering Team for implementation of Die Modification Requests (DMRs) to improve dimensional quality of stamped panels to increase panel fit in BIW and overall body accuracy.
Analyzes reports for die related downtime, as well as part quality and create method/ process to achieve zero downtime, reduce Mean Time to Failure (MTTF) and Mean Time to Repair (MTTR) and part quality improvement.
Built and maintain an attitude of team player with global teams to align/ implement systems to reduce occurrence of defects (target is 0).
Supports creation of standards to increase efficiency of ME Tool & Die systems and identify and implement items to drive improvements.
Support/ technically leads during die design, vendor buyoff and home line trials for new model dies.
Generates independently, modify vehicle stamping parts AUTOFORM simulations, including die designer, process plan, springback compensation
Prepares and technically leads review of die designs, patterns, cast models, checking fixture design to prevent production problems
Document lesson learned and implementation for future projects
