About the role:
The Payroll Tax Analyst supports the Payroll Tax Manager in all special projects and company initiatives that impact the payroll organization. The Payroll Tax Analyst works independently and applies advanced payroll principles and knowledge to ensure standard operating procedures are followed, compliance with all local legal requirements relating to payroll tax, manages payroll efficiency and accuracy initiatives. Primary responsibilities for this position include employee tax set up, tax filing processing, tax agency notice management, employee garnishment administration using applied audit principles and designed controls. Develop, manage and implement continued process improvement initiatives, standardization.
Your Responsibilities Include:
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll taxes and garnishments in compliance with legal requirements and internal policies, using sound judgment to interpret procedures and resolve routine issues.
- Investigate and resolve tax agency notices and garnishment orders, coordinating with internal stakeholders and external agencies as needed to ensure timely resolution.
- Prepare and validate payroll data to support tax filings, apply established procedures and identify opportunities for process improvement.
- Support globally mobile employee tax compliance, including the monitoring and processing of hypothetical tax requirements in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Maintain compliance with statutory, SOX, and internal policy requirements, escalating concerns appropriately and contributing to audit readiness.
- Generate and analyze reports related to payroll, tax, and garnishment activities, ensuring data integrity and supporting business decisions.
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, identifying and implementing enhancements that align with quality and compliance standards.
- Enter and maintain accurate employee data, including tax elections and garnishment details, in payroll systems and employee records.
- Collaborate with the Payroll Product Support team to develop non-standard reports and support special projects of moderate scope.
- Provide guidance to less experienced team members, sharing knowledge and supporting team development.
What we're looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 2-5 years of payroll processing preferred
- Level desired: Intermediate
- Preferred Qualifications: ADP, ECP
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Work Environment
The work environment is hybrid 3 days a week in Heredia.
