Skills and attributes for success
- Review personal tax returns;
- Research client issues that arise from compliance work using a variety of on-line sources;
- Correspond with managers, staff and/or clients in answering clients’ specific personal tax queries or about matters that arise from compliance;
- Demonstrate professionalism through a positive and cooperative attitude and by maintaining the confidential and proprietary nature of client relationships and related work products.
To qualify for the role, you must have
- 2+ years previous experience reviewing Canadian and/or US personal tax returns
- Attention to detail, excellent organizational skills and strong verbal and written communication skills;
- A positive attitude and the ability to work under pressure;
- If performing US tax work, the ability to obtain a US PTIN number;
- Be available during March and April, however upon mutual agreement, a longer-term contract is possible.
Ideally, you’ll also have
- Knowledge of TaxPrep or CCH software would be an asset;
- Previous experience with tax research tools would be an asset.
