Your key responsibilities

With the Compensation team, you’ll join a talented group of professionals that provide global compensation advisory and compliance. Focusing on large-scale projects, you’ll work with clients and tax preparers to coordinate tax authorization lists and answer questions (earnings, remittance of foreign taxes, tax equalization and settlement payments). You’ll provide year-end compensation summaries, submit totalization letters, perform quality reviews on compensation, complete tax-bridging, assure accurate processing and delivery of hypothetical tax, allowance and lump sum payments, payroll-related advances, and home country housing deductions and research discrepancies. You will be expected to have excellent communication skills, integrate into and lead new teams, and manage end-to-end global projects. Directly engaging our clients is vital, be ready to question and negotiate to provide results.

To qualify for the role you must have

  • A bachelor’s degree in related field; MBA, MST, MAcc or JD/LLM preferred
  • 1+ years’ experience in expatriate or payroll services: Big 4, global management consultancy firm, niche consultancy or in-house role with exposure to large-scale projects
  • SPHR, GPHR or CPP certification
  • Understanding of automated tax-processing systems and tax laws
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, able to confidently influence colleagues and clients at all levels
  • Willingness to travel as needed, and working in a balanced hybrid environment

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Knowledge of foreign assignment matters (payroll, accounts payable, relocation, tax, and compensation and benefits)
  • Knowledge of international compensation calculations (hypo-tax, allowances and lump sum payments, payroll-related advances, home country housing deductions, etc.)
  • Understanding of world affairs, geography and economic issues
  • Language skills or international living/working experience

What we offer
We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $43,500 to $88,600. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $52,100 to $100,800. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year.
