You will be joining a growing team of G10 rates focused sales team in Japan.

As an Associate in the G10 rate sales team, you will be responsible with the day-to-day execution of all interest rate products in USD, JPY, AUD, and NZD during the Asian session. You will transact in these products across a broad range of clients (asset managers, insurance accounts, pension funds, banks, sovereign wealth funds, hedge funds, etc). The ideal candidate has a strong intellectual curiosity, a high degree of organization and attention to detail, and the ability to perform well under high pressure situations with the appropriate degree of urgency.

Job responsibilities

• Work with our partners in trading in Sydney and Singapore, syndicate and research to provide comprehensive client coverage
• Fulfill client requests for market updates
• Assist with the execution of client orders and providing clients with market intelligence
• Take responsibility for the trade execution process including trade booking, new issue order taking and general sales back-up across the desk
• Demonstrate proficiency in identifying market drivers and product lingo while showing a high degree of interest in learning about other products while developing a cross-product skill set

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in financial services
• Strong understanding of Interest Rate Derivatives with a solid mathematical background
• Experience in rates products and a solid understanding of macroeconomics
• Creative problem solver with ability to perform well
• Strong understanding of fundamental product
• Clear, logical thinker with strong qualitative abilities
• Ability to learn quickly, multi-task and self-manage priorities
• Effective communication skills to interact with internal partners and clients both in Japanese and English

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Experience with volatility products in rates and/or FX is preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics or other related disciplines
• Strong team player that is detail oriented with a highly disciplined approach to process and quality control
