Product Environmental Compliance Engineer - Corporate

You will make impact with the following responsibilities:

  • Participate in strategic product environmental compliance (PEC) program development across global operations and engineering teams to mitigate risk and support Siemens’ sustainability objectives.
  • Provide technical support to suppliers, as well as internal resources, regarding product declarations to drive PEC data collection.
  • Analyze and interpret technical material data to identify gaps and evaluate product compliance.
  • Develop and track PEC metrics as well as key performance indicators to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Work with product development, engineering, and supply chain teams to ensure compliance requirements are integrated into product designs and processes.
  • Manage PEC relevant process documentation including declarations of conformity as required by internal and external requirements.
  • Prepare and submit internal as well as external regulatory reports related to PEC.
  • Continuously develop and maintain knowledge of existing as well as evolving PEC regulations and directives.
  • Participation in internal and external audit activities, including site and business unit ISO 14001 Environmental Management System audits related to PEC.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, chemistry or related technical degree.
  • 5 plus years’ of experience in a product environmental compliance role.
  • Project management and organizational skills to plan, execute, and monitor sustainability projects within budget and time constraints.
  • Direct experience working and collaborating with supply chain management – Procurement.
  • Ability to analyze data, recognize business impact and communicate trends.
  • Familiar with ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management System and corresponding requirements as it relates to sustainability initiatives.
  • Excellent knowledge of PEC regulations, including TSCA, ROHS, REACH, WEEE, Prop 65, etc.
  • Must be proficient in use of MS Office programs including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams, as well as SAP and BOM Check.
  • Must be eligible to work in the US with no sponsorship now or in the future.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams relative to projects/initiatives –Supply Chain, R&D, Engineering, Product Management, Procurement, etc.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to analyze complex problems and devise innovative solutions.
  • Must have strong verbal and written skills.
  • Experience with Data Analytics and Visualization Software a plus (Tableau, Power BI).

Benefits and Perks:

The pay range for this position is $89,670 - $153,720. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
