We deliver components that enable Wi-Fi, Cellular and Ethernet connectivity across many device form factors, including all Windows PCs, Xbox consoles and HoloLens. We define and build end-to-end user experiences. To achieve this, we work with a variety of technologies across several layers, including UI, core OS components, device driver interfaces, industry wireless and wired protocol specifications, and cloud services.As a Software Engineer II, Wireless Core OS Wireless Networking, you will collaborate with internal and external technology leaders to innovate and be an industry leader in providing reliable, performant, seamless and secure wireless connectivity supporting people centered experiences.


Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

    • OR equivalent experience.

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Responsibilities
  • You will design and develop Windows features in the networking space, contributing to the entire software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering and architecture design to implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
  • You will review and contribute to the specifications and implementations written by other team members.
  • You will actively participate in technical discussions with industry partners and relevant standard body working groups, representing Microsoft.
