Sales Representative

The Impact You’ll Make in this Role:

As a(n) Sales Account Representative, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Implements strategies set by leadership to drive new product introductions, promotional programs, and training in the territory.
  • Selling 3M products including Abrasives, Tapes, Masking Systems and Safety.
  • Supports the retailer/distributor along with the end-user to provide solutions to improve job-site efficiencies and training with our portfolios.
  • Presenting relevant information and products to customers in face-to-face presentations as well as phone calls or e-mails
  • Demonstrating to customers how to use 3M products and how they will add value to their company.
  • Willingness to be on-call to support your customers need in your geography.

This position requires driving a company vehicle, which will require pre-employment and ongoing review of motor vehicle history for candidates who are offered and hired for this position.

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
  • Three (3) years of territory sales experience in a private, public, government or military environment
  • Current, valid Driver’s License.

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Master’s degree in business administration from an accredited institution
  • Three (3) years of territory sales in a private, public, government or military environment
  • Skills include presentation skills across many types of customers and end-users, strong data analytics and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to speak both English and Spanish languages is considered for this role.
  • Experience translating customer needs into creative solutions.
  • Ability and willingness to prioritize multiple customers, self-motivate, and be held accountable for setting and meeting goals.

Work location:

  • Sales territory: California, Oregon, and Idaho markets
