Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience developing highscale,distributed systems on a cloud platform.
  • 5+ years of mentoring and coaching other software engineers.

  • to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirementsarerequiredfor this role. These requirementsinclude, butare not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will berequiredto pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.


or Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Scienceor related technical field AND 10+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
    • ORMaster's Degree in Computer Scienceor related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years’ experience building and shipping production grade software or services with emphasis in telemetry and monitoring.
  • 4+ years of experience building distributed services
  • Knowledge in performance benchmark and optimization

Responsibilities
  • Build, evolve and co-own a hyper-scale distributed service.
  • Participate in all stages of service lifecycle.
  • Dive deep into global-scale service issues and drive improvements to resiliency, latency, and product reliability.
  • Promote automation effort for regions buildout.
  • Promote improvements in the quality and stability of service fundamentals and promote engineering best practices.
  • Demonstrate effective customer empathy, curiosity and willingness to question and learn, and participation in live site on-call rotation.
