Responsibilities:
- Identify suitable manufacturing process, technologies, techniques based on product and operational requirements.
- Define and evaluate proposed equipment and processes for product manufacturability.
- Establish robust, repeatable and reproducible process parameters.
- Develop, implement and take ownership of process control methodologies.
- Prepare justification, purchase, manage equipment vendors and commission capital equipment for production.
- Have the capability to singly or with other engineering stakeholders identify root causes of failures in the manufacturing process.
- High level of participation during commissioning, validation and production ramp up. Including effective coordination, problem solving, training, etc.
- Plan and introduce equipment and process changes through Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).
- Trouble shoot process related issues.
- Determine statistical process capability for new and existing products.
- Improve safety, manufacturing techniques and through put.
- Develop and maintain process documentation.
- Review processing methods.
- Engage with the responsible function team(s) in activities associated with new process implementation and technology transfer.
- Assist in the development of training and provide training to production and engineering personnel during new technology transfer.
- Provide equipment maintenance and repair support as required.
- Guide costimprovement/reductionprograms.
- Develop and improve internal engineering system processes to improve engineering efficiency and effectiveness. Document and train engineering staff as needed.
Qualifications:
- Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in mechanical, manufacturing or electrical engineering, or related field or equivalent experience and training.
- Typically requires a minimum of 3 years of experience in an automated manufacturing environment, from any of these types of highly regulated manufacturing industries: medical devices, automotive, pharmaceutical, food and beverage, defense/aerospace.
- Working knowledge of statistical methods, process capability studies, Process Flow Diagrams, Failure Modes and Effects Analysis and manufacturing processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interpret data, identify trends and make data-driven decisions.
- Aptitude for developing a detailed understanding of processes from start to finish. And ability to refine into safe, efficient and effective real-world processes.
- The ability to collaborate effectively, share knowledge, and contribute to a positive team environment.
- Effective communication, both written and verbal, is essential for collaborating with teams, presenting findings, and interacting with stakeholders.
