As a Process Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Actively supporting safety improvement Initiate, recommend and drive cost and productivity improvements by leading Continuous Improvement projects with a variety of toolsets, including standard work development, Lean & Six Sigma methodologies, Tier reviews and Kaizens
  • Providing technical support, troubleshooting and involvement in daily operations to meet operational targets including occasional availability on nights, weekends and holidays as needed by production
  • Providing manufacturing leadership on assigned product lines including, but not limited to communication and implementation of corrective actions to improve customer experience, creating and maintaining process documentation, implementing management of change, increasing product and process understanding, reducing variability
  • Collaborating with local and division technical teams on process improvement projects focused on improving manufacturing operations
  • Proactively communicating project direction and status to appropriate personnel

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering or science field (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
  • One (1) year of experience working in a manufacturing plant in a private, public, government or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in mechanical, electrical, industrial, manufacturing or chemical engineering from an accredited institution
  • Three (3) years of experience working in a manufacturing plant
  • Experience working in a data science/statistics role in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience working with technology, PLCs/control systems, automation, robotics and/or mechatronics in a manufacturing environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills along with strong computer skills
  • Ability to work on cross-functional teams
  • Demonstrated leadership ability, organizational skills, process control, and statistical knowledge

Work location:

  • Onsite in Prairie Du Chein, WI.
