The Role
As Director of Process Management within Card Planning and Delivery, you will collaborate with smart and passionate leaders to influence results that have a direct impact on the company’s bottom line. You will lead important and exciting projects from day one, working alongside key stakeholders across the company. Although the opportunities are endless, the core responsibilities of a Director of Process Management include:
Lead moderate to large sized teams on high-priority initiatives and work streams that span across Card and Capital One
Design, develop, and manage process plans and delivery roadmaps in a complex dynamic environment
Partner with customers to provide strategic and tactical recommendations in support of process delivery with a service-minded attitude
Drive solutions to complex problems across cross-functional teams by applying sound business judgment to navigate trade-offs between competing priorities
Effectively manage scope, schedule, resources, budget and communicate status, impediments, and risks/issues across all levels of the program
Deliver results and influence business outcomes across all levels of the organization
Influence and manage a large set of stakeholders/Intent owners across COF ranging from VP+ to associate
Leverage and translate data into compelling stories to drive action
The person will:
Exhibit outstanding influencing skills to effectively drive process / program efforts
Demonstrate a proven track record of excellent process management, bringing the ability to thrive in gray space and quickly putting structure in place to manage work in a dynamic complex environment
Exemplify excellent People leadership and development competencies, while holding themselves and others to a high bar for quality and results
Have passion for coaching and developing a team of associates
Have excellent communication and partnership skills which are essential for interacting and communicating with key stakeholders at all levels across the company to manage, inform and influence outcomes
Ability to set direction, manage expectations and lead cross-functional teams
Be comfortable working in a fast paced time sensitive environment
Be confident, respectful, and articulate when registering dissenting opinions with colleagues and senior management
Lead process reinvention strategies with largely horizontal impacts
Serve as subject matter expert on process improvement initiatives
Basic qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or military experience
At least 8 years of experience in Process/Project Management
At least 8 years of experience in People Management
At least 5 years of experience in Strategic planning
Preferred qualifications:
6+ years of experience with project management tools (Jira, MS Project, Confluence)
6+ years of experience working, supporting or partnering with internal business clients
10+ years of Process/Project Management experience
10+ years of People Management experience
Process or Project Management certification (ie Lean, Six Sigma, PMP), Business Management certification
