Jacobs is seeking an. As the Operations Supervisor you’ll work with project staff to oversee compliance reporting, maintenance of equipment and quality control testing. Partnering with other team members and our client you’ll apply knowledge of the principles, methods and tools employed in the general operation of engines, pumps, valves, motors and related equipment, wastewater process control, permit compliance, and safe work practices. You’ll also have the opportunity to: monitor, record and operate the wastewater treatment plant, recharge and SCADA system; diagnose operating problems and direct effective correction procedures; prepare required reports and maintain complete recordkeeping procedures; analyze recording instrument readings and laboratory test results and adjust various plant processes accordingly; perform plant inspections to determine efficiency of operations, cleanliness, and maintenance activities including remedial action in emergencies; supervise, evaluate and train employees and perform other duties as required.


Essential Duties:

• Supervise and train employees.

• Determine remedial action in emergencies.

• Assign replacement operators during emergency situations.

• Prepare work schedules subject to approval of Project Manager

• Prepare reports and maintains records.

• Perform employee evaluations.

• Prepare required reports and maintain complete recordkeeping procedures.

• Assist the Project Manager in conducting ongoing safety program.

• Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with those contacted during work.

Here's what you'll need

• An Arizona Grade IV Wastewater Treatment System Operator Certification or be able to get one in 6 months.

• An understanding of computer software including Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to enter data into a maintenance management system.

• Diagnose operating problems and directs effective correction procedures. Experience in Compliance Monitoring and Reporting including preparing and reviewing DMR (Discharge Monitoring Reports)

• Knowledge of computer software including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, data management systems and be able to operate plant PLC’s and SCADA systems.

• High school diploma or GED

• A valid driver’s license.

Ideally, you'll also have:

• At least eight (8) years of experience in operating wastewater treatment plants

• 5 years’ experience in overseeing capital project planning and budgeting.

• An understanding of computer software including Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to enter data into a maintenance management system.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:

The physical and environmental demands required to perform the essential duties of this position include standing, walking, sitting, coordination, balance and agility demands, which may include the ability to stoop, kneel, squat, grasp, reach, perform repetitive hand movements. Additional demands may involve a specific level of dexterity, grip strength, climbing and cardiorespiratory demands. The work areas may be indoor, outdoor, have loud noise, active machinery, high pressure fluid systems, electrical equipment, confined spaces, heights and depths, fumes, air borne particles, noxious gases, and chemicals. The use of appropriate safety equipment will be mandatory in these areas to prevent hazardous contact.
