Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with clients to understand their energy storage goals, project requirements, and site-specific Battery and Renewables installation considerations.
- Provide expert advice on civil engineering aspects of Battery and Renewables projects, including site design, grading, foundations, drainage, and access road development.
- Work closely with engineering teams to develop comprehensive civil design plans and specifications for Battery and Renewables projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Coordinate with geotechnical engineers to perform soil investigations and provide recommendations for foundation design and construction.
- Review environmental assessments and consenting requirements, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, and addressing any potential impacts.
- Conduct quality control inspections and monitoring throughout the construction process to ensure the integrity and compliance of civil works.
- Guide the integration of civil engineering aspects with other project disciplines, such as electrical and mechanical engineering, to ensure seamless project execution.
- Support clients in the procurement process, including evaluating bids and proposals, reviewing contractor qualifications, and providing technical input during contract negotiations.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory updates related to batteries and Renewables, civil engineering, providing strategic recommendations and best practices to clients.
- Willingness to stay updated with industry advancements through continuous learning and professional development.
- Flexibility to travel to client sites and project locations as required.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Civil Consultant or in a similar consulting role focused on energy or infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles and practices, focusing on site development, grading, drainage, and foundation design.
- Familiarity with relevant codes, regulations, and standards governing civil engineering aspects of energy storage projects.
- Demonstrated experience in conducting site assessments, feasibility studies etc. for infrastructure projects.
- Proficiency in understanding and reviewing civil engineering design drawings produced using software and tools like AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar applications.
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to assess complex site conditions and provide effective solutions.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple projects, meet deadlines, and manage stakeholder expectations.
- Effective communication and people skills, with the ability to build relationships and effectively communicate with clients, project teams, and regulatory authorities.
- Experience working in cross-functional teams, collaborating with engineers from different disciplines.
