When you join us, you’ll be responsible for inspecting rail car components, such as bearings, seals, gaskets, wheels, and coupler assemblies, to identify any defects or potential maintenance needs. In addition to inspection, you’ll assist in the repair or replacement of defective or worn parts using hand tools, torque wrenches, power tools, and welding equipment.
In this role you’ll have the opportunity to work closely with other engineers, technicians, and mechanics to ensure efficient and effective maintenance operations. You’ll ensure adherence to safety regulations and procedures during maintenance and repair operations, promoting a safe work environment. Additionally, you’ll provide support for maintain the workshop and equipment in a safe and organized manner, ensuring their functionality.
We’ll ask you to maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs performed, and any issues encountered, adhering to company procedures. To perform repairs, installations and fabrication tasks, you’ll utilize blueprints, shop sketches, and instruction manuals and will be involved in testing the functionality of repaired or replaced components and systems, ensuring proper operation after repairs.
