Key responsibilities
The role of Manager GDS Pursuits will include the following:
- Lead a team of 6-10 professionals undertaking sector based research and working on company documents, Sector points of view, industry documents and ad-hoc pieces of research
- Identifying sector themes for generating actionable business development analysis
- Identifying M&A opportunities from various channels and understanding flow of funds, ecosystem analysis, investment rationale, cross-border deals and sub-sector watch for preparing Go-to-Market materials
- Develop in depth knowledge on a sector and its sub-sectors, to be able to add value while analyzing financial and strategic information of clients, and identifying opportunities based on market developments
- Undertake quality check (both qualitative and quantitative) to ensure:
- Output is insightful and as per expectation of onsite teams
- Delivering within agreed timelines
- Manage/handle multiple requests at a time and guide team members accordingly
- Measure, monitor and improve client service by guiding team members and driving excellence in service delivery
- Develop excellent relationships with global stakeholders and be responsible for a high degree of client satisfaction with engagement process and work products
- Direct the progress of engagement work, inform supervisors of the engagement status, and manage staff performance
- Conduct timely performance reviews off Staff and Senior employees and help in developing and guiding staff and other junior professionals by providing effective performance feedback/training and ensuring that team responsibilities are consistent with skills and developmental goals. Lead by example
- Use current technology and tools to enhance the effectiveness of services provided
Skills and attributes for success
- Experience of having worked in the following types of firms and the following types of service offerings:
- Experience of having worked in a similar research organization, consulting major like the Big 4 or financial analytics firms, investment banking, or a management consulting firm
- Large Indian corporates with exposure in planning & strategy, corporate finance, business development role
- Equity research role in leading KPOs/Captives
- Required understanding of business development including:
- Affinity towards Financial services sector
- Strong communication and business writing skills
- Good understanding of corporate transactions and funding mechanisms
- Ability to determine risks and opportunity areas, assess findings and communicate insights
- Experience in undertaking sector studies and analyzing merger and acquisition (M&A) drivers for a given sector or transaction
- Experience in interacting with senior management of clients
- Excellent problem solving, project management, facilitation and interpersonal skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience in developing final presentations
To qualify for the role, you must have
- Master’s degree OR MBA OR Master’s in business administration or CFA
- 10+ years of work experience in research firms, Big 4s, consulting firms, Investment Banking, etc.
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.
- Experience in Financial Statement Analysis
- Experience in Go to market documents, company and/or industry research and thought leadership documents
