Your Role and Responsibilities

As a GTM product manager for watsonx.data, you will be managing the overall pricing strategy, collaborating with marketing on product messaging, and working closely with sales on proving out ROI of .data in various use cases

Responsibilities include:

  • Perform competitive and market research to understand market dynamics
  • Create ROI assets to support product use cases backed by evidence
  • Support business forecast by collaborating with sales to understand revenue pipeline and channels
  • Price features and capabilities in alignment with product strategy and business objectives
  • Create sales enablement content to help the field articulate product value and positioning
  • Create product messaging content such as blogs
  • Lead product presentation to senior stakeholders
  • Gather feedback and needs from customers to validate assumptions and inform product requirements

Required Professional and Technical Expertise

  • Strong product pricing and finance background. Comfortable creating ROI for various product use cases and determining product pricing levels based on business objectives, conditioning, and market conditions. Comfortable creating business cases for new product features
  • Strong customer-facing and communication skills/experience – Experienced with delivering presentations to senior stakeholders and influencing decision-making while navigating difficult situations
  • Experience working in a sales setting , strategizing sales plays and tactics – understand how to incentivize and drive alignment from sales strategy to product strategy
  • Experience performing competitive and market research to shape product positioning and messaging
  • Experience managing diverse stakeholders’ demand – Able to manage expectation and alignment across the various outbound product stakeholders (Marketing, Sales, Consulting, Client Engineering, Customer Success managers)


Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Experience working in product roles or entrepreneurship
  • Understanding of Data Management, Data Security, and Data Sharing in the context of diverse data stores (SQL and NoSQL databases, including vector databases)
  • Domain expertise in working with diverse data architectures and distributed data management such as Data Lakes, Data Lakehouses, Data Warehouses, and Databases
  • Understanding of B2B product pricing
  • Understanding of the IBM Cloud platform
  • Experience with managing Cloud operations and understanding Cloud economics and compliance
  • Strong relationship-building skills
  • Proven ability to effectively communicate and manage multiple stakeholder relationships
  • Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product
  • Experience in representing and advocating for client/market needs and stakeholders during executive-level prioritization and planning
