Job responsibilities
- Understands the firm’s database infrastructure environment and technology modernization pathway.
- Works with database products and versions on our private cloud or onto the public cloud.
- Uses your expertise to help maximize the performance and resiliency of the application workloads.
- Migrates large, complex workloads to new database infrastructure and the ability to help our application teams achieve best results from their infrastructure.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on Infrastructure engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience.
- Proven ability to deliver database consulting work to the internal customer base across all JPMC lines of business.
- Build strong relationships and become a trusted advisor to application development teams so they can accelerate cross cloud modernization efforts by utilizing your knowledge and focus on the success of their outcomes.
- Work closely alongside database product engineers and database support to deliver an integrated service and seamless experience to internal JPMC application developers.
- Be a self-starter, able to drive progress across multiple concurrent assignments, from small to large scale.
- Ability to provide technology enhancements and able to represent the very latest guidance to internal customers.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Minimal downtime database migration options for large, complex database, covering both homogeneous and heterogeneous scenarios.
- Proactive performance analysis and optimization of database workloads
- Deep expertise on one or more of the following: AWS RDS, AWS Aurora, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, Postgres, Data migration and data streaming tooling such as Oracle Goldengate or Pentaho.
