GROUP DESCRIPTION:
TD Securities' Financial Sponsors Group (FSG) provides dedicated coverage to a broad range of North American and Global private equity, infrastructure, pension and sovereign wealth funds. We focus on developing and maintaining financial sponsor relationships through a continuous flow of proprietary ideas and financing solutions. FSG partners with various industry and product groups from across the firm to provide best-in-class, comprehensive advisory and execution solutions to our clients. These include:
- Leveraged buyouts, sell-side and buy-side M&A mandates
- Financing and debt advisory mandates
- Common, preferred and structured equity solutions
- Financial restructuring and related transactions
JOB DESCRIPTION / RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develops transaction ideas and discusses appropriate context with senior coverage team members.
- Develops revenue in all product areas and executes transactions.
- Demonstrates relevant market / industry / product knowledge.
- Structures/delivers high impact presentations.
- Maintains client relationships and keeps them informed as deals progress.
- Keeps more senior M&A and coverage officers informed as deals progress/issues arise.
- Executes on deals, generating or contributing to increases in revenue levels.
- Establishes an environment that promotes respect for the individual employee and adheres to the policies and guidelines of the Bank.
- Maintains confidentiality of client information.
- Accountable for providing expertise and support to senior coverage team members in execution of transactions and deal structure by providing expertise and knowledge of relevantmarkets/industries/products.
- Developsrecommendations/ideasfor transactions and revenue generation, structures/delivers presentations, and manages deals/transactions as they progress/issues arise (escalating and keeping senior coverage officers informed as required).
- Liaises and maintains client relationships.
- Acts as an experienced specialist for an assigned business or portfolio; role requires deep knowledge.
- Effectively lead and develop junior staff by providing training and mentorship.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business (Accounting or Finance) orMathematics/Economics
- Series 79 and 63
- 5-7 years of related experience
- Excellent verbal / written communication skills, strong work ethic and a high degree of attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to balance multiple priorities and work effectively in a team setting
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with experience performing comparable company, precedent transaction, DCF, merger and LBO analysis
- Commitment to leadership and integrity with capacity to build internal and external relationships
