- Research Planning and Execution
- Design and conductuser studies(e.g., interviews, usability testing, surveys) to explore player behavior.
- Plan and manageresearch projectsfrom end to end, including planning time budget, managing recruitment, and choosing research methods.
- Data Collection and Analysis
- Gather bothqualitative data(e.g., user interviews, observation) andquantitative data(e.g., analytics, surveys).
- Applystatistical methodsandthematic analysisto uncover trends and patterns in players' actions, motivations, and pain points.
- Communication of Findings
- Translate complex research findings intoclear, actionable insightsfor diverse professional audiences (e.g., designers, product teams, executives).
- Present the insights in acompelling way(e.g., written reports, visual summaries, workshops, or in-person presentations) to diverse stakeholders, from game designers to senior executives.
- Collaboration, Consultancy, and Stakeholder Engagement
- Serve as asubject matter experton player behavior, motivations, and UX best practices to guide game design decisions.
- Facilitateworkshopsorbrainstorm sessionsto help stakeholders understand player needs and integrate insights into product roadmaps.
Requirements:- Education :Master's degreein Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Information Systems, Cognitive Science, Human Factors, or a related field.
- Research Skills :Excellent knowledgeof user research methodology (e.g., usability testing, interviews, surveys, focus groups, heuristic principles of human interface design) and willingness to learn more advanced techniques.
- Experience witheye-trackingsoftwareandheat mapping toolsfor detailed visual behavior analysis.
- Analytical Abilities : Comfort with analyzing bothqualitativeandquantitative data(e.g., survey statistics).
- Software Skills : Experience withresearch and data tools(e.g., survey platforms, basic statistical software, video conferencing for remote testing).
- Communication Skills :Strong written and verbal communication, with the ability to produce easy-to-understand findings.
- Game Industry Knowledge : familiarity withgame design,UX in gaming, and the casual/social casino genre of mobile games.
- Project Management : Experience inplanning and coordinatingmultiple tasks, timelines, and stakeholders for several parallel research projects.
