• Education Assistance • Implement experimental plans for catalyst synthesis and testing operations under the assistance of senior staff. Build expertise in areas of catalyst synthesis chemistry and equipment operation.
• Perform basic laboratory operations for preparing catalysts such as solution preparation, wet chemical catalyst treatments, dough preparation/extrusion, operation of laboratory ovens and furnaces, grinding, and particle sizing.
• Implement catalyst preparation improvements, new capabilities, and operational changes with assistance from senior staff and project teams while following management of change protocols.
• Organize and maintain electronic and paper copies of information pertaining to the performed experiments including laboratory notebooks, sample databases, research reports, and other documents.
• Provide summaries of results – both verbally and in written form – and discuss these with senior staff and project teams.
• Observe and maintain monthly Safety Management System requirements.


•Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics and 1+ years’ experience in a hands-on laboratory or pilot plant setting or High school diploma or GED and 8+ years’ experience in a hands-on laboratory or pilot plant setting


•Bachelor’s degree in a chemical sciences/engineering field (chemistry, chemical engineering, biochemistry, materials science or related)
•Functional knowledge of chemistry, catalysis, and chemical engineering concepts. Mathematical aptitude for basic laboratory operations.
•Experience with wet chemistry, e.g., preparing solutions, pH measurements, benchtop chemical reactions, separations, and purifications.
•Creativity in materials manipulation (e.g. pottery, handcrafts, 3D printing) and ability to be inventive in absence of a defined recipe.
•Proficiency with Excel spreadsheet management. Experience with data visualization software such as JMP, Origin, Seeq, or Power BI is a plus.
•Multi-tasking and organizational skills together with the ability to effectively manage project deliverables.
•Ability to work in a team-based environment with excellent interpersonal communication skills.
•Excitement to improve processes and solve problems in the face of challenges.
