Job Overview – As an Amazon Robotics Sensor Technology Leader, you will develop innovative hardware designs for our emerging robotic systems and improve existing hardware to optimize performance and enhance customer experience.Key job responsibilities
The Hardware Development Engineer will be responsible for:
-Technically leading an interdisciplinary team to execute product designs from concept to production including requirements, specification, design, prototyping, validation and testing
-Supporting the architecture development and path to implementation for complex camera, compute or machine vision modules-Working with the Operations, Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Quality organizations as well as vendors to ensure a smooth product launch and sustaining
-Writing functional specifications, design verification plans, and functional test procedures
-Complete engineering analysis and cradle to grave ownership
-Design and support hardware solutions
-Develop requirements
-Developing engineering artifacts following hardware development best practices-Act as a trusted technical leader able to provide advisement to stakeholders
-Provides input for sensor strategy and roadmap
-Technical mentorship

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- PhD in Electrical, Mechanical or Optical Engineering (or similar field)
- Experience with sensor modalities (time-of-flight, stereo, RGB, mmWave radar, LiDAR) is highly desirable.
- Experience designing for IEC 60204 and/or IEC 61508 machinery safety standards preferred.
- Experience designing, developing and certifying safety rated systems is desirable. -Experience with the project management of technical projects a plus.
- Experience troubleshooting and resolving EMI/EMC issues.
- Proficient with Matlab and PSPICE -Experience with Zemax or similar analytical tools
