You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. Key job responsibilities- Ability to make quick decisions with limited data based on experience and understanding of the subject matter
- The QA engineer will focus on fiber optic and optic components, cabling and interconnect products, technologies and standards at this point. The scope may expand to mechanical and electrical (M&E) and other mission critical components later.- Candidates must be responsive and communicate with technical teams to collect requirements and communicate with internal customers to describe features, technical designs and strategy.
- Identify and respond to risks and high-priority issues rapidly and effectively
- Support New Product Implementation activities that improve infrastructure quality, reduce cost and installation time
- Local Travel 40+% to review projects and coordinate with onsite personnel and contractors at AWS Data Centers

Basic Qualifications

- • High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Telecommunications, or related field preferred.
- • 3+ years of experience in structured cabling, inside plant (ISP) infrastructure, or data center environments.
- • Knowledge of fiber optic, copper (Cat 5e/6/6A) cabling installation standards
- • Basic understanding of grounding and bonding requirements in accordance with ANSI/TIA, NEC, and BICSI
- • Working knowledge of cable pathway infrastructure
- • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, RCPs, BIMs, rack elevations, and cable schedules.
- • Proficiency in using inspection tools and documenting technical information
- • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work in fast-paced environments.


Preferred Qualifications

- • Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline
- • In-depth knowledge of ANSI/TIA-568, 569, 606, 607, ISO/IEC 11801, and NEC Articles 300 & 392 (or related local electrical codes)
- • Familiarity with NEMA VE1/VE2 and IEC 61537 for cable tray construction and installation.
- • Experience conducting QA inspections in live data center environments with a focus on pathway fill ratios, cable diameter compliance, separation requirements, and firestop/fire rating compliance
- • Hands-on knowledge of fiber splicing, fiber testing equipment (OTDR/OLTS), budget-loss, and copper certification testing
- • Familiarity with data center best practices (e.g., hot/cold aisle containment, overhead vs underfloor cabling strategies).
- • Strong communication skills with the ability to interface with contractors, engineers, and stakeholders.
