You are an Executive Director level candidate with significant leadership credentials who will be integral to helping shape and develop the Outsourcing, Operations and Technology strategies for J.P. Morgan SE. You will report directly to the Head of J.P. Morgan SE Outsourcing, Operations and Technology (OOT) and act as their strategic advisor, responsible for developing and delivering key initiatives.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Define and drive the strategic framework for the Target Operating Model for J.P. Morgan SE OOT, to enable successful execution of its vision, thereby meeting business objectives
  • Partner with the OOT Team to identify and execute on opportunities to improve reporting from stakeholders to provide consistent and transparent messaging that is focused on risk identification and mitigation; this includes identifying opportunities for better “storytelling” including visualization and automation of reporting leveraging digital tooling
  • Lead the centralization of all ongoing programs and projects within the scope of the Head of J.P. Morgan SE OOT, bringing and ensuring consistency and consolidated senior management and oversight
  • Provide bespoke support to the Head of J.P. Morgan SE OOT to enable the proper discharge of oversight responsibilities across the organization and to meet regulatory requirements
  • Manage and lead team of approx. 10 headcount responsible for governance and reporting for J.P. Morgan SE Board level, regulatory/audit oversight, product governance, PMO, and change management
  • Support the Head of J.P. Morgan SE OOT in stakeholder engagements including the preparation and oversight high quality operational and risk and control materials for review and discussion in meetings at regional and global executive meetings, at J.P. Morgan SE Board level, and with external stakeholders including regulators and the firm’s auditors
  • Support the Head of J.P. Morgan SE OOT in creating, enhancing and maintaining cross-teams relationship and overall collaboration
  • Prepare and communicate business strategy, performance and priorities to key stakeholders
  • Deliver high quality executive presentations, reporting and analytics to support business decisions

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Deep understanding of the Financial Services industry, the regulatory environment and impact on business strategy with significant previous work experience in the Financial Services industry - should be able to demonstrate the following: good understanding of the products and markets in which J.P. Morgan SE operates, understanding of the fundamentals of good governance and ability to read, digest and summarize regulatory requirements
  • Strong and effective communication skills:
    • Very strong written and verbal communication, with the ability to communicate succinctly, providing opinion and challenge senior stakeholders, as appropriate including excellent English written and oral communication skills
    • Experience of liaising with and presenting to senior management
    • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to coach and support teams to deliver similar high-quality output
    • High competency levels in Microsoft Office suite, including Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to consistently deliver work of a high standard, and to tight timelines, including actively demonstrating accountability, responsibility, and ownership for own objectives and team deliverables, ability to prioritize, whilst managing stakeholder expectations, managing deliverables from stakeholders and own teams for monthly governance cycles
  • Prior management experience of successfully leading small teams, including proven record of management of performance of others, managing budget and headcount, and recruitment of team members
  • Role model for others in the organization in terms of culture and conduct - in detail: understanding of appropriate escalation and good conduct within the governance frameworks of an organization; ability to influence and work with others to achieve stated objectives; ability to build and maintain productive working relationships with colleagues at all levels and across functions in a collaborative manner in order to achieve results; eager to learn and seek out opportunities to enhance skills for themselves and team members

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • German language skills are a plus
  • Prior experience of facilitating formal governance processes
  • Markets, Securities Services, Payments, and Private Bank product knowledge
  • Engagement with European Financial Services regulators i.e. ECB
  • Business Analysis and / or Data Analysis skills;
  • Digital tools experience – e.g., Tableau, Alteryx, Xceptor, UI Path
