This role is responsible for analyzing credit and investigating existing and prospective clients and counterparts. Key responsibilities include focusing on but not limited to credit, market, and reputational risk; as well as adherence or monitoring of credit risk policies, risk appetite, and reporting, including but not limited to Top of House (TOH) and Line of Business (LOB) specific reports or regulatory related reporting. The Credit Risk Officer manages a portfolio of 15+ corporate clients and is responsible for conducting financial analysis; tracking portfolio company performance and assessing ongoing creditworthiness and assisting in the origination, negotiation and structuring of senior bank debt and related credit products. The Credit Risk Officer builds extensive knowledge of each client drawing upon in-depth research and industry expertise. As a member of Enterprise Credit, you will work closely with professionals throughout Risk and Global Banking and Markets, particularly colleagues in Corporate Banking/Relationship Management, Trading (primarily FX and Interest Rate Swaps), Treasury Management and Syndications (investment grade and leveraged finance). Responsibilities also include qualitative and quantitative due diligence on industry and company factors
Job Responsibilities:
- Researching, writing, and presenting financial and industry analysis in support of company specific and portfolio level decisions
- Evaluating transaction and relationship risk-adjusted profitability to facilitate the allocation of and return on capital
- On-going monitoring of client’s financial performance, industry trends and emerging risks
- Participating in the structuring, underwriting and documentation of credit facilities designed to meet both client and investor needs as well as balance the bank's internal risk/return requirements
- Monitoring and managing credit exposure associated with the Bank's broad range of products including Loans, Leasing, Foreign Exchange, Derivatives, & Treasury Management
- Sets or supports the oversight of the ongoing management of risk parameters and guardrails for credit risk while ensuring adherence to risk appetite/limits, and actively inspects and/or designs risk scenarios to implement decisions
- Supports the credit approval process and therefore is accountable for overall portfolio performance and asset quality, including underwriting, structuring, and monitoring tasks
- Conducts analysis, inspects and/or develops credit risk reporting for specific products, and monitors and reports on key indicators for changes in credit quality to communicate to senior management
- Ensures adherence to policy and standards and performs due diligence that the risk is within the bank's defined risk appetite, using knowledge of stress testing and its applicability to credit risk
- Supports monitoring of adherence to industry risk governance, as well as monitoring for potential operational, reputational and market risk issues
- Identifies risks early that could impact the assigned portfolio and coordinates with business counterparts to resolve portfolio issues

Required Qualifications:
- 7+ years Commercial/Corporate banking risk and/or analysis experience
- Understanding of basic accounting
- Working knowledge of corporate finance
- Strong business writing skills

- Bachelor’s Degree
- Foundational understanding of legal credit agreements
- Ability to coach junior teammates
- Working knowledge of ancillary bank products (treasury, cash management, derivatives)
- Specific experience within Technology, Media, Telecom & Gaming a bonus
