Job Description

The Senior Specialist – Manufacturing Automation will serve as technical subject matter expert as part of manufacturing value team (MVT) member supporting the SCADA/Process Historian Product technical product activities under the Process Control & Instruments Integration Product line. The Senior Specialist is responsible for creating value enablers for the SCADA/ Process Historian product and deployment of those value enablers to worldwide manufacturing sites. These value enablers improve the operations efficiency, control system availability and performance. Responsibilities also include system configurations, troubleshooting issues, identifying trends, process monitoring, documentation updates, data querying, operator training and participating in deviation investigations. Must be able to communicate clearly (oral and written) and frequently with operations and other support groups.

• Architect and Develop SCADA, Process Data Historian engineering solutions and manage the technical deployment of the same at multiple manufacturing plants.
• Documentation of best practices, internal Knowledge Articles, and other communications.
• Participate and contribute to investigations of automation anomalies to prevent a recurrence.
• Understand and support all GMPs, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Evaluate automated and information technology systems and develop strategies to optimize and ensure the quality and stability of automation systems through future expansion, replacement, or upgrade.
• Use their technical knowledge to assure the robust and efficient operation of a variety of automated processing and information technology systems.

Required Experience and Skills:

• Experience with Process Data Historian Aveva PI –
  • Configure PI AF, Event Frames, Notifications, etc. as per Plant Hierarchy
  • Develop on-demand reports, dashboards, etc. in PI System
• PI-System performance optimization, monitoring system health, upgrades, etc.
• Experience of SCADA systems engineering & deployment – Ignition 8.1 , Rockwell Factory Talk, Siemens, Wonderware. SCADA administration and configuration.
• Excellent understanding on SCADA/MES Ignition modules like Perspective, Vision Unlimited, Web Browser, Alarm Notification, SQL Bridge, Tag Historian, SQL Server, python scripting
• Expertise in integration with OPC server products like Kepware
• Experience with automation system architecture, design, start-up and/or qualification.
• Experienced problem solver/troubleshooter, skilled in root cause analysis
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Excellent organizational skills to multi-task.
• Candidate must be able to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
• Strong analytical thinking and technical writing skills
• Proficient in MS Office Platform and document storage systems
• A prominent level of innovation, creativity, and self-initiative

Desired Experience and Skills:

• Strong background in Manufacturing IT & Control systems; specifically, integration of control systems with IT systems
• Exposure to planning and executing
• Networking experience; working knowledge of Enterprise Networking and local control networks.
• Pharmaceutical Operations experience, in a GMP Pilot Plant, Manufacturing environment or related facility
