When you join us as a Senior Water/Wastewater Cost Estimator, you’ll be responsible for the following:
• Develop construction cost estimates for Water and Wastewater systems, including but not limited to pipelines, process piping, and process equipment. Ability to estimate heavy civil, and structural, disciplines is a plus.
• Apply practical field experience and constructability expertise to the development of conceptual estimates when minimal design drawing and information are available.
• Review and interpret plans and specifications from multiple design phases; program, conceptual, design development through 100% construction documents and into change orders and generate quantity takeoffs and pricing for all civil, structural, architectural and process mechanical requirements.
• Ability to develop work breakdown structure for complex projects
• Calculates estimating costs using labor, material and equipment pricing schedules.
• Solicits cost data from functional representatives, subcontractors, and vendors.
• Prepares and maintains historical cost data.
• Understand construction market trends and the implications for estimating.
• Contribute to risk analyses, value engineering, and constructability exercises.
• Creates cost models for estimating elements.
• Demonstrates an ability to be responsible for completion of tasks without supervision
• Assists lead estimator with reporting functions and assembly of project deliverables.
• Possess good verbal and written communication skills.
• Be able to effectively communicate complex estimating information to project teams.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in estimating with increasing responsibility
• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, project management, or related technical field. Experience in lieu of degree is acceptable.
• Experience with water and wastewater treatment plants, sewer collection systems, pump stations, outfall projects.
• Experience with Sage Estimating (Timberline) Software, HCSS, On-Screen Takeoff, Bluebeam are highly desirable.
• Additional desirable software use would include MII, and AutoDesk Assemble for takeoffs
• Knowledge in Microsoft Office software suite.
Ideally, you’ll also have:
• Active membership in AACEI, ASPE, PMI, or similar association
