In this role, you will:
- Manage moderately complex claims and litigation
- Provide legal advice and representation of the Company in moderate risk litigation, negotiations, settlement discussions, and claims related legal issues
- Review and analyze moderately complex challenges that require an in-depth evaluation of variable factors
- Provide guidance to internal clients on legal matters to assist with legal risk assessment, planning and policy decisions, claims against the Company, probability of loss, and develop cost-effective risk mitigation strategies
- Draft and review complex legal documents prepared by outside counsel
- Identify and analyze complex legal issues, develop conclusions, and make recommendations for issue resolution
- Collaborate with peers, colleagues, and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
- Lead or participate in moderately complex initiatives and deliverables and contribute to large-scale planning
- Work directly with business clients and develop an in-depth understanding of business unit activities and products
Required Qualifications:
- 4+ years of Law experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- Active State Bar membership or the equivalent in a country outside the United States
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience as a practicing attorney in private practice supporting financial services clients or in a financial services in-house legal department and/or financial regulatory agency.
- Experience in consumer lending litigation, specifically related to credit cards, merchant services, retail services, personal lines and loans, mortgage / home lending.
- Experience conducting research and providing counsel and guidance regarding complex legal issues.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective organizational, client management, and prioritization skills.
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and deadlines.
Pay Range
$139,000.00 - $239,000.00
