Handle direction, execution of all safety programs, policies, and ISO standards as per global and local regulations
Design and implement required safety training programs and processes
Lead H&S training and awareness sessions for store staff, employees, and management teams
Maintain records of participation in trainings, as well as local H&S certification to assigned staff
Become certified in local H&S
Inform teams of new and developing health and safety regulations
Participate as site representative in global H&S programs and initiatives
Share and implement best practices with H&S global and local counterparts
Capture, analyse, and react to safety metrics, as well as review weekly and monthly incident trends to discover patterns on areas where the safety risk is highest
Assist Retail Consumer Experience team during store development, in preparing required plans and appropriate facility operating procedures per H&S policies
Conduct risk assessments on the workplace organization, associate behaviours and processes to ensure that training, auditing and scoring methods are accurate, consistent and in compliance
Respond to all health/safety-related incidents and conducts investigations as required
Lead accident investigations, performing root cause analysis for all injuries and “near misses.” Train store leadership teams to conduct thorough investigations on site
Leverage lean principles to lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce conditional and ergonomic risk in processes to ensure a safe and healthful working environment for all employees
Maintain all records and documentation in compliance with local, and ISO standards.
Ensure vendors, contractors and third-party employees are compliant to Company H&S standard

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of all applicable corporate, global (ISO), federal (OSHA), state, local health and safety regulatory requirements.
Excellent verbal and written communication in both Japanese and English

Requisite Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Occupation Safety, Industrial Engineering, Environmental Management or a related field as well as a minimum of 5 years relevant experience
Certification in an EH&S related discipline and/or Professional Engineer (PE) designation is preferred
5-7 years Health & Safety Experience
Experience in training associates on facility safety and environmental procedures
