As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing innovative network abstractions for large-scale distributed AI training and inferencing. Additionally, you will work on developing advanced networking protocols specifically tailored for efficient AI workloads.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in the Computer Networking Domain (Networking Firmware/Drivers, Network Protocols, etc.)

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
    • OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 1+ years’ experience with Python
  • A deep technical background and solid foundation in computer networks, software engineering principles and architecture design
  • Intellectual curiosity and passion about learning new technologies
  • Exposure to Deep Neural Network training and inference and experience in one or more deep learning frameworks (PyTorch, Tensorflow, ONNX, etc)
  • Great cross-team collaboration skills and the desire to collaborate in a team of researchers and developers

Responsibilities
  • Apply strong engineering principles for defining robust and maintainable networking abstractions.
  • Orchestrate large scale networking experiments to measure and analyze network performance of AI workloads, and work with network architects to innovate on network protocols.
  • Collaborate broadly across multiple disciplines from hardware designers to ML developers
  • Perform software development in C/C++, Python, and other languages.
  • Identify requirements, scope solutions, estimate work, schedule deliverables.
