JACOBS is seeking anto join our team in
Pompano Beach, FL. In this role, you'll be responsible for the success of a facility management services program at our client site. You’ll perform as an agent for the company and point of contact for the client. While permanently seconded to the client’s site, you'll interface with the client every day, all the time. Consequently, the position includes frequent client communication with intent to sustain and improve customer satisfaction and the ITS/Traffic Operations Program. Each day, you'll represent JACOBS and our client as you take responsibility for ensuring that all safe work practices are being followed by the staff and contractors working on the client site and will have considerable responsibility in the ITS and traffic operations and ITS infrastructure. You should be a self-motivated professional with a minimum 10 years’ project/program management experience and have a desire to grow personally, as well as professionally.
• You’ll be responsible for safe work practices of both JACOBS staff and subcontractors which includes implementation of JACOBS Beyond Zero program.
• You’ll be an excellent communicator and an effective people leader. Solid experience managing teams of more than 20 staff with proven ability to motivate employees.
• You’ll have experience managing projects related to ITS infrastructure – including but not limited do ITS roadside equipment, traffic management center operations, and traffic analyses.
• You’ll provide inspection of facilities and work; planning, programming, and scheduling; repair and maintenance; quality control and preventative maintenance.
• You’ll oversee cost control; records, reports, contract compliance; procurement; subcontracting.
• You’ll be responsible for coordination of work priorities and monitoring of methods and procedures to improve cost-effectiveness and efficiency.
• You’ll serve as the on-site point of contact for all formal interface discussions of ITS and traffic operations.
• You’ll facilitate change orders, out of scope work and subcontracts with client and subcontractors as required.
• You’ll direct recurring repairs, service, and maintenance work, resolve technical problems.
• You’ll monitor cost control, financial reports, budgeting, and overall operating costs.
• You’ll hire administrative and maintenance personnel.
• You’ll monitor and inspect maintenance, repair and service operations for quality control and contract compliance.
• You’ll ensure management and contract reports are accurate before submission to corporate management and client.
• You’ll develop contingency, emergency operation, safety, fire prevention and property maintenance management plans in concert with owner's plan.
• Have technical knowledge of facilities maintenance and operations for ITS, the Traffic Management Center, and Traffic Operations.
Required Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor's or 4-Year Degree in Engineering from an accredited university
• Minimum 10 years’ project/program management experience
• 7 years’ experience in ITS
• 5 years supervisory experience
• Valid Driver’s License with no major infractions
• Must be able to pass and maintain a cleared secondary background check (criminal history report)
• Experience with Microsoft Office
- Ideally, You'll Also Have:
• Licensed Professional Engineer in Florida
• Knowledge of traffic engineering principles, incident management, TSM&O, ITS Plans,
Specifications, and Testing Requirements.
• Experience in ITS design, traffic engineering, and systems engineering
• Knowledge of Sun Guide ATMS, Regional ITS Architecture and emerging transportation technologies
• Breadth of knowledge in networking, cybersecurity, contract development, FDOT budgeting and funding mechanisms, project scheduling and management principles, application of technology to solve challenges and produce efficiencies, as well as reporting needs/development, and performance management.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:
The work area can involve a working environment indoors, as well as, outdoors which could cause exposure to outdoor elements; proper environmental attire will be required. Some areas can have loud noise, active machinery, high pressure fluid systems, electrical equipment, confined spaces, heights and depths, fumes, air borne particles, noxious gases, pathogens and various chemicals. Safety is of the utmost importance. The use of appropriate safety equipment will be mandatory in these areas to prevent hazardous contact.
Must be able to sit, stand, stoop, twist and bend at the waist, turn, kneel, squat, raise arms above shoulder height, grasp, reach, perform repetitive hand movements and fine coordination when preparing reports and using a computer keyboard, have vision sufficient to read computer screens, printed documents and operate office equipment, have hearing in the normal range with or without correction. In an 8-hour time period must be able to transport self across the facility, ascend and descend stair steps, lift objects up to 50 pounds from floor level to waist height, wear and use appropriate safety equipment.
