Responsibilities:
- Design opto-mechanical and mechanical parts, modules and subsystems to support the design of the next generation wafer inspection tools.
- Be responsible for the entire design process, including initial requirements, feasibility studies, cost analysis, scheduling, conceptual and detailed design, creation of detailed drawings, design review presentations, procurement of prototype parts, system integration, prototype testing, and handoff to manufacturing.
- Work with other engineering groups such as Optics engineers, Systems engineers and Manufacturing/ Serving engineers to ensure flawless integration and test at the subsystem and system level.
- Develop supporting documentation, such as assembly and test procedures, and actively address and resolve product issues throughout the phases of development.
Qualifications:
- Understand fundamentals of mechanical engineering, including design principles, tolerance, error budget, materials, and thermal dynamics.
- Capable of conducting FEA analysis such as stress, thermal, vibration and flow analysis.
- Understand how metals are machined. Some machine shop experience is helpful.
- Understand basic concept of optics, such as reflection, refraction, focusing, polarization and simple ray tracing.
Minimum Qualifications
Doctorate (Academic) Degree with no experience, or Master's Level Degree with related experience of 3 years, or Bachelor's Level Degree related experience of 5 years.
