As a Project Leader for Fabrication Services, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by applying the following skills:

  • Lead cross-functional teams in Fabrication Services and Engineering that can have major business impact
  • New Process Development for design services
  • Manage forward direction of new capital equipment and technologies
  • Collaboration and teamwork with global Engineering and R&D partners
  • Project leadership for continuous improvement
  • Apply technical and leadership skills to generate project scopes, plans and collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Communicate timelines, deliverables, resource needs to complete projects in an effective manner
  • Prepare reports, presentations and other customer facing technical documents to develop new business opportunities

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Two (2) year technical degree or completion of equivalent technical training to apply knowledge of technical principles and processes used in machine tool technology or sheet metal technology (completed and verified prior to start)
  • Two (2) years of project leadership experience in Manufacturing, Manufacturing Technology, Fabrication and/or Engineering in a private, public, government or military environment
  • Experience reading blueprints and using various related computer software packages such as CAD, SiemensNX, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a science or engineering discipline from an accredited institution
  • Five (5) years of machine shop and/or sheet metal shop experience (CNC mills, lathes, grinders, laser, welding, sheet metal equipment, etc.) in a private, public, government or military environment
  • Skills include project facilitation, and communication (oral, written, presentation)
