Contract Type: Full-Time – Permanent

Your key responsibilities

  • Coding new developments and / or enhancements.
  • Design applications, systems or processes.
  • Quality assures program specifications and code.
  • Create functional design documentation.
  • Adhere to code quality and unit testing standards
  • Identify and implement integration tests, automating tests where appropriate.
  • Investigate and manage complex Live Incidents.
  • Coordinate or escalate defects / problems.
  • Perform Root Cause Analysis.
  • Coordinate team or release activities.
  • Create and demonstrate prototypes / screen designs.
  • Supervise and coach junior resources.
  • Provide input to governance and status reports.
  • Peer reviewing code changes completed by developers.

Skills and attributes for success

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of software development life cycle processes, agile development methodologies, software design and testing.
  • Strong knowledge in Core Java, Spring, Spring Boot, Rest API
  • Experience with ActiveMQ and messaging technologies
  • General knowledge and experience in working with databases (Relational and non-relational).
  • Experience in front end technologies ( HTML, JavaScript, CSS, Angular JS )
  • Ability to develop unit testing ( Junit ) of code components or complete applications.
  • Experience with Continues Integration/Delivery Concepts & tools ( GitLab, SonarQube, Maven, Jenkins )
  • Technical solution design skills to allow the analyst to determine the optimum solution using the correct blend of technologies to meet a set of defined requirements
  • Experience working on engagements with technologies and architectures Knowledge/experience of delivery methodologies, application development lifecycle and delivery models.

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Software Programming or Information Management.
  • Minimum 6-10 years of experience in a software development role.

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Ability to drive the project and prioritize tasks into manageable work products.
  • Desired knowledge in containerization concepts & tools ( Docker, Kubernetes )
