What you'll do...
What you'll do:
Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of our critical systems and infrastructure, including but not limited to Linux/Windows servers and virtualization technologies (Nutanix, VMware, etc.).
Data center hardware and software (servers, PDUs, UPS, printers, peripheral devices, workstations, network switches and gears, Apple devices, etc.) Networking technologies such as VPN, DNS, load balancing, and firewalls.
Containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes Infrastructure as Code tools such as Ansible, OpenStack, Chef, Puppet, etc.
Configuration management tools such as Tanium Client Management software and related modules Public and private cloud infrastructure.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address technical issues and opportunities for improvement.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers, helping to develop their skills and expertise.
Stay up to date with the latest technologies and trends in the industry and apply this knowledge to drive innovation and improvement within the company. Develop and maintain technical documentation for operational readiness and knowledge transfer.
Ensure the security, availability, and performance of our systems and infrastructure, adhering to industry best practices and company policies.
What you'll bring:
At least 8 years of experience in systems and infrastructure engineering, with a focus on Linux/Windows servers and virtualization technologies, data center hardware and software, networking technologies, containerization technologies, Infrastructure as Code tools, configuration management tools, and public and private cloud infrastructure.
In-depth knowledge of Nutanix, VMware, and other hypervisors (AHV, ESXi, etc.).
Expertise in data center operations, including creating Bill of Materials, working with acquisition teams, unpacking and racking equipment, and collaborating with network, security, firewall, cabling, and facility teams.
Strong understanding of Linux Operating Systems (CentOS, Ubuntu, SLES, etc.) and Windows Operating Systems, with a deep knowledge of OS internals and configuration.
Proven experience with scripting languages such as Python, Perl, Shell, and Bash.
Familiarity with software development lifecycle and associated tools for source code management like Git and build systems like Jenkins.
Hands-on experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
Experience with public and private cloud infrastructure.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
