What you'll do...

At Walmart, we believe it is essential to keep innovating while safeguarding our data. The mission of a security operations center (SOC) development team is to build and maintain the systems and tools that the SOC needs to detect, investigate, and respond to cybersecurity threats. This includes developing and deploying intrusion detection systems, security information and event management (SIEM) systems, and other security tools. The SOC development team also works to ensure that the SOC's systems and tools are integrated with each other and with the organization's other IT systems.


What you'll do:

  • Assists in providing guidance to small groups of four to five engineers, including offshore associates, for assigned engineering projects by providing pertinent documents, directions, examples, and timeline
  • Provides support to the business by responding to user questions, concerns, and issues (for example, technical feasibility, implementation strategies)
  • Researching and identifying needed solutions
  • Determining implementation designs
  • Providing guidance regarding implications of new and enhanced systems
  • identifying short- and long-term solutions; and directing users to appropriate contacts for issues outside of associate's domain
  • Researching and identifying alternative solutions
  • Determining needed solution based on return on investment and value add to the business
  • Gathering requested information (for example, design documents, product requirements, wire frames)
  • Writing and developing code
  • Conducting unit testing
  • Communicating status and issues to team members and stakeholders
  • Collaborating with project team and cross functional teams
  • Identifying areas of opportunity
  • Interpreting information and identifying a solution
  • Ensuring solution is sustainable across implementation and use
  • Troubleshooting open issues and bug-fixes
  • Ensuring on-time delivery and hand-offs
  • Troubleshoots business and production issues by gathering information (for example, issue, impact, criticality, possible root cause)
  • Performing root cause analysis to reduce future issues.
  • Engaging support teams to assist in the resolution of issues.
  • Developing solutions

What you'll bring:

  • 8+ Total years of working experience in Python & Node Js.
  • 5+ Total years of experience as a Full Stack Developer.
  • Preferred 3+ years of experience with Web development using ReactJS/NextJS
  • 3+ years experience leading the team as a Tech Lead
  • Experience with Cloud platform (Azure etc)
  • Worked on Monitoring and alerting tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, etc.
  • Experience with building, configuring and implementing CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience containerizing and deploying applications using Docker/Kubernetes.
  • Relational and/or NoSQL Database experience
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and be able to articulate complex technical concepts in business terms.
  • Demonstrated high level design of systems.
  • Solid experience in large scale distributed systems and event-driven architecture.
  • Have designed, built, and maintained APIs, services, and systems on cloud at large scale.
  • Team Player that works well within a team.
  • High expectations of yourself for innovation, execution, and accuracy.
  • Are curious and have the desire to learn new technologies and quickly change direction
