We are seeking research scientists and engineers with a strong background in AI/ML and robotics to drive breakthrough innovations in intelligent systems. This role emphasizes the intersection of machine learning and robotics. Unlike traditional AI roles, this position requires a hands-on approach, integrating software and hardware solutions to push the boundaries of perception, control, and intelligence. You will work alongside world-class researchers and engineers, contributing to technologies that power the Apple ecosystem and publishing in top-tier scientific venues.

    • Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement state-of-the-art AI/ML models for perception and control
  • Develop and optimize software solutions for AI/ML-driven applications, including embedded programming and high-performance computing.
  • Work with various sensor modalities (LiDAR, cameras, IMUs, etc.)
  • Utilize CAD software (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or equivalent) for mechanical modeling and design.
  • Operate and maintain 3D printers, CNC machines, laser cutters, and other fabrication equipment.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and software engineers to create functional and aesthetically refined systems.
  • Iterate quickly based on feedback, technical constraints, and functional requirements.
  • Document research findings, methodologies, and technical developments for internal knowledge sharing and external publications.
    • Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
    • Strong proficiency in Python and C++ with experience in complex, multi-language systems.
    • Expertise in ML algorithms and deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch and TensorFlow.
    • Experience with perception, control, and sensor fusion.
    • Hands-on experience with 3D CAD modeling (SolidWorks, Fusion 360) and fabrication (3D printing, CNC machining, etc.).
    • Strong software engineering skills, delivering clean, well-tested, and optimized code.
    • Knowledge of PCB design, embedded systems, and sensor integration
    • Familiarity with reinforcement learning, planning algorithms, or autonomous navigation
    • Experience in manufacturing processes
    • Background in industrial design principles
    • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to iterate quickly based on user feedback and technical constraints.
