Roles and Responsibilities
Your key responsibility will include :
Operational
Own overall results for all development project and programs (Sustaining Engineering, New Products and Advanced Technology Development) out of the site, actively removing obstacles for the team and effectively partnering with the program managers and global functional managers. Own quality, timeline, and budgets. Propose trade-offs as appropriate and drive for timely decisions.
Energize the team for strong engagement on programs. Translate & communicate program strategies to the team. Institutionalize effective technical and leadership roles at the site.
Co-create annual budget plans; ensure operations stay within financial targets quarterly.
Maintain effective partnership with local cross functional teams to ensure speed & quality on programs – sourcing, manufacturing, quality, regulatory, service.
Ensure compliance to EHS & QMS requirements at the site.
Organizational
Develop world class local technical, project and functional engineering leaders through appropriate training, assignments, mentoring/coaching and global bubble assignments.
Lead hiring, talent development and retention strategies for the site.
Drive a culture that ensures outstanding compliance to product quality & GEHC Quality Management System.
Drive a culture of innovation, engineering excellence, accountability, and global collaboration.
Global Cohesion
Continually connect the local team with the overall business strategy and vision, drive operating mechanisms to engage the team globally. Continually identify and drive actions necessary to ensure overall team efficiency and effectiveness.
Work with global functional managers and Chief Engineers’ office to refine technical ownership strategies & drive local competency growth that is required to realize the strategies.
Work with global functional managers to effectively realize functional excellence in the various disciplines within the site teams.
Local Connections
Create a unified, energized workforce locally – across sub-functions, with a strong Monitoring Solutions identity
Represent Monitoring Solutions in region technology organization & support local initiatives and collaborations
Connect team with local market and customers
Drive local vendor partnership effectiveness.
Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Biomedical or Computer Engineering or equivalent discipline.
Minimum of 15+ years of design & development experience preferably in medical device development.
Minimum of 5+ years of engineering management experience and leadership of direct reports
Minimum of 5+ years of program management experience, leading product development efforts from concept to delivery for introduction into the global market.
Demonstrated ability to deliver results while leading multiple projects simultaneously, balancing resources, timing and quality of outcomes.
Experience working in a global, matrixed organization.
Demonstrated engineering knowledge, program management, and business planning processes
Demonstrated experience in state-of-the-art software development methodologies and tools
Demonstrated knowledge of FDA design controls requirements
Ability and willingness to travel 10% both domestic and international
Desired Characteristics
15+ years overall progressive engineering work experience through a variety of program and functional leadership roles.
Demonstrated people management skills. Proven mentoring and coaching abilities; demonstrated ability to motivate & inspire others
Track record of delivering large scale software releases and leading teams through adoption of Agile methodologies.
Demonstrated experience driving strategy and teams in one or a combination of IaaS, SaaS, software platforming, Cloud, software deployment.
Proven ability to drive change and proven ability to drive buy-in for initiatives with various global stakeholders.
Experience with GEHC’s Quality Management System, Product development framework and associated tools.
