• A minimum of 5 – 10 years of progressive experience as a Civil Engineer with the design of backland facilities for marine terminals.
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering field from an ABET accredited university or college.
• TX Professional Engineer License (or the ability to obtain one within one year) is required. If close to obtaining a license or scheduled for the exam, the candidate will be considered.
• Working knowledge with design and coordination of grading, water distribution, sanitary systems, stormwater conveyance, jointed reinforced concrete and rail design as it relates to the backlands of marine terminals.
• Experience in preparation of construction drawings and specifications.
• Experience site civil development for container, bulk material handling and liquid bulk terminals.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, MicroStation and Civil 3D.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and small projects independently.
• Ability to travel occasionally for site visits and inspections.
Ideally, you’ll also have:
• Master of Science Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Experience in designing backland facilities for marine terminals.
• Experience in working with port authorities and private terminal companies.
• Able to produce civil details in AutoCAD / MicroStation and coordinate with senior CAD operators to prepare construction drawings.
• Experience with project quantities and cost estimation.
• Able to produce technical memorandums and reports.
