The Detection Engineer will be responsible for creating and maintaining threat detection content, including signatures, rules, and indicators of compromise (IOCs).

This role requires a deep understanding of cyber threats, attack techniques, and detection methodologies. The ideal candidate will have experience in threat intelligence and a passion for staying ahead of emerging threats.

Your key responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain threat detection content, including signatures, rules, and IOCs.
  • Analyze and interpret threat intelligence data to identify new and emerging threats.
  • Collaborate with threat intelligence and incident response teams to enhance detection capabilities.
  • Test and validate threat detection content to ensure accuracy and effectiveness.
  • Stay up to date with the latest cyber threats, attack techniques, and detection technologies.
  • Provide expertise and guidance on threat detection strategies and best practices.
  • Prepare and present reports on threat detection content and effectiveness to senior management.

To qualify for the role you must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in threat intelligence, threat hunting, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of cyber threats, attack techniques, and detection methodologies.
  • Experience with security technologies, such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, and EDR.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Relevant certifications, such as GCTI, GCIA, or GCIH, are preferred..
